​Below are lists of the various committees within the FYC program at USF. These committees, with the exception of the of Current Policy Committee, are inclusive. Feel free to join any and as many as you wish. The strength of these committees relies on the collaborative spirit of USF's FYC program. Email the chair of the committee (indicated with an asterisk[*]) if you wish to become a part of improving that particular aspect of the program!

Policy Committee
Membership: Chair appointed. 
Meeting time: Once a semester
Description: The FYC Policy Committee is an advisory committee of graduate students, professors, and administrators.  The Committee typically meets once a semester and its purpose is to advise the Director of Composition on the future of the program. Members are appointed by the Chair of the Department of English in consultation with the Director of Composition.​

Membership: Open.

Description: This committee is devoted to making sure that the 1102 curriculum transfers smoothly and uniquely to online contexts. Anyone who has taught in online environments is a valuable asset to this committee. Email committee chair if you are interested.

Mentoring Group
Membership: Selected through open application. Closed group. 
Meeting time: Twice per month. 
Description:​This group of mentors is devoted to streamlining and supporting incoming instructors into the program. The members of this group are appointed every year from an application process. If you're an incoming instructor, then you should familiarize yourself with this group -- they exist to support you.

Summer Pedagogy and Curriculum Group
Membership: Open. 
Meeting time: Tuesdays at 11:15am in CPR 343 (Summer only). 
Description:​This committee is devoted to developing and making changes to the curriculum, planning orientation, and creating resources for teaching the projects. Celebrate Student Success Team
Membership: Open. 
Meeting time: Every other Wednesday from 2pm-2:45pm in CPR 343. Next meeting will be February 1st.
Description:​This awesome team is committed to doing just what their name suggests: celebrate student success. Every year thousands of students in the FYC program create noteworthy work that goes unnoticed. This group thinks of fun, unique, and legitimate ways to acknowledge the great work students do in our classrooms. ​
